Description

The Virginia Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network is hosting a free event that includes an emergency response seminar and a tabletop exercise (TTX). The seminar presentations will cover topics related to VA WARN, as well as water and wastewater preparedness and response. The TTX will be based on a hypothetical scenario designed to bring together water, wastewater, public safety, county and state agencies to discuss roles and responsibilities.

This seminar and TTX is open to member and non-member utilities, as well as response partners that are interested in learning more about VA WARN. An application will be made for Virginia water and wastewater operators to earn training hours toward their license renewal requirements for their participation in the entire event.

EPA will use your registration information solely for this event. We will not share your information with any third party.

If you require special accommodations, please contact Alex Liguori at liguori.alex@epa.gov or 202-564-8326 by February 21 to make arrangements.

Improving the security and resilience of our nation's drinking water and wastewater infrastructures is vital to ensure the provision of clean and safe water to all in the United States. Significant actions are underway to assess and reduce consequences, threats, and vulnerabilities to potential terrorist attacks; to plan for and practice response to natural disasters, emergencies, and incidents; and to develop new security technologies to detect and monitor contaminants and prevent security breaches.
